LADWP Sponsors ASCE Engineers Week 2023

The 10th annual American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Engineers Week 2023 was held on February 19-25, hosted by the ASCE L.A. Young Member Forum. The five-day celebration was centered around year’s theme of “Creating the Future” and included over 800 students, teachers, professionals and volunteers, who joined together to inspire the next generation of engineers. The week consisted of Elementary School Day, Middle School Day, High School Day, Girls Day, and Girl Scouts Day. LADWP was a title sponsor for the weeklong event, and both Elementary School Day and Middle School Day were led by LADWP Civil Engineering Associates Andres Perez and Ani Sarkissian. Senior Assistant General Manager of the Water System Anselmo Collins also participated in a “Future Cities” panel event for the ASCE Metro L.A. Branch during Engineers Week. About 100 professionals and students attend the event, which looked at the present and future of L.A.’s infrastructure.
