LADWP Recruitment Services Caps Off a Successful Year

With looming waves of retirements affecting many organizations, LADWP has stepped up efforts to recruit and hire future employees to carry on the tradition of providing reliable water and power service. In 2022, Recruitment Services in the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion participated in more than 100 recruitment events to promote career opportunities in professional, skilled craft and administrative fields. These efforts would not have been possible without the close cooperation and collaboration with labor partners, career fair representatives, proctors and raters from Water, Power and Joint systems.

Recruitment services added 35 new recruitment events, including several skilled craft recruitment opportunities. These included the Northwest Lineman College Career Fair, which focused on the electrical trades, and the Santiago Canyon College Career Fair, which focused on water related jobs such as Hydrographer and Water Utility Worker. In the professional recruitment program, Recruitment Services was thrilled to add the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) Conference to the list of diversity conferences from which to recruit STEM students and professionals. Community outreach was also expanded by attending the Taste of Soul, in collaboration with Customer Service and Corporate Strategy and Communications, to share upcoming opportunities with community members in South Los Angeles.

Recruitment Services also worked with Corporate Strategy and Communications last year to update the careers page on the LADWP website, www.JoinLADWP.com, to showcase current and upcoming career opportunities. Employees can visit the website to apply for current job opportunities and subscribe to email notifications when future job opportunities become available. The website is updated every Friday afternoon with the latest information.
